Grebe Kayak, Cutting out the Panels
Cutting out the panels was easier than I thought.  The key is to have a long workbench that can support the full length of the panel.
cutting out the panel with a jigsaw planing to the line
I used a fine tooth Bosch blade in my jigsaw.  I cut to the outside of the line trying to stay about 1/16" from the line. A block plane was used to cut to the line.  The lauan cut easily.  I used a fairing board to further fair and dress the cut edge.
finished hull bottom panel template
The hull bottom panel is finished and ready to be used as a template for routing.  Not shown is the hull side panel that I slightly modified to add more upsweep to the bow and stern.  I didn't make templates of the deck since I plan to strip the deck of the kayak.
