Cutting out the panels was easier than I thought. The key is to have a long workbench that can support the full length of the panel. |

I used a fine tooth Bosch blade in my jigsaw. I cut to the outside of the line trying to stay about 1/16" from the line. |

A block plane was used to cut to the line. The lauan cut easily. I used a fairing board to further fair and dress the cut edge. |

The hull bottom panel is finished and ready to be used as a template for routing. Not shown is the hull side panel that I slightly modified to add more upsweep to the bow and stern. I didn't make templates of the deck since I plan to strip the deck of the kayak. |
